The Found Footage Festival is a one-of-a-kind comedy event that showcases footage from videos that were found at garage sales and thrift stores and in warehouses and dumpsters across the country. FFF is Nick Prueher and Joe Pickett and is based in New York City.
They began collecting found videotapes in 1991 after stumbling across a training video entitled, "Inside and Outside Custodial Duties" in a McDonald's break room. Since then, Joe & Nick have compiled an impressive collection of strange, outrageous, and profoundly stupid videos on VHS.
Afterwards, join Nick and Joe at (sort of) nearby Stanley's for specials on Brooklyn beer and your chance to slip them a video of your 1989 public access dance show.
It's not all jokes and laughs, however. A portion of proceeds will go to benefit the local sustainability non-profit, Land Stewardship Project.
Since the first tour in 2004, the Found Footage Festival has gone on to sell out hundreds of shows across the U.S., Canada, and the U.K. The festival has been featured on National Public Radio, Jimmy Kimmel Live, and G4 TV’s Attack Of The Show, and has been named a critic’s pick in dozens of publications, including The Village Voice, Los Angeles Times AVClub.com ("Skull-crushingly funny.") and The Chicago Tribune.
The Mash is an interactive tour of our favorite food, music, comedy, literature and beer, visiting 11 cities from March-December in 2013.
