Fri, March 8th
5:30pm - 11:00pm
755 Springdale Rd, Austin, TX
Presented by Food Republic and Togather
One of New York City's most sought-after chefs, Marcus Samuelsson, and Austin's own culinary rennaissance man, Jesse Griffiths, sit down for a conversation about technology's effect on the world of food moderated by DJ Mr. Jonathan Toubin.. The evening is a benefit for Slow Food Austin, all proceeds going directly to their efforts to promote sustainable food. Drawing from passages in their respective books (copies of which will be available for purchase at the event) Yes! Chef (Samuelsson) and Afield (Griffiths), the two chefs will explore the impact of tableside Instagrammers, online review sites, immediately shared menus and the proliferation of recipes on the web all while enjoying a few beers in the pristine setting of Springdale Farm in East Austin.
The talk is just the appetizer, though. Directly following will be an outdoor dinner party co-created by Samuelsson and Griffiths with a helping hand from Brooklyn Brewery's House Chef Andrew Gerson. The farm style dinner party will feature a multi-course, locally sourced feast with courses curated by the evening’s culinary stars. To sweeten your meal, there will be mellow tunes from local jazz-man, Stanley Smith. Proceeds benefit Slow Food Austin, an organization that reconnects people with the food they eat. Slow Supper will be accompanied by jazz music of local favorite, Stanley Smith. Menu to come.
Guests are invited to join the New York Night Train Soul Clap & Dance-Off after party with DJ Mr. Jonathan Toubin, including a 10:30pm dance contest with the chance to win a $100 cash prize and a trip to the New York Dance-Off Championship at Brooklyn Bowl.
