Mash Education will cover a concise history of beer in the world before we delve into brewing technique and ingredients as we taste four Brooklyn Beers. Beers tasted will include Brooklyn Lager, Brooklyn Local 2,Silver Anniversary Lager and one more special beer TBD.
Carla Villa fell in love with craft beer during college in Chicago when her brewer friends would bring over kegs of specialty Belgian ales to drink on her back porch. Now, with over 10 years of experience in the business, she spends her time at Brooklyn Brewery selling beer in Brooklyn, giving tours, training staff and coordinating Brooklyn's Beer School program. Her favorite beer style is smoked helles and she finds DE filtration the most fascinating part of beer production.
The Mash is an interactive tour of our favorite food, music, comedy, literature and beer, visiting 11 cities from March-December in 2013.
