Animation Block Party

Animation Block Party is a top-tier animation festival that has been produced in the United States since 2004. The Brooklyn Brewery Mash brings highlights from Animation Block Party to the Bio Rio with some of the world’s finest cartoons.

Several award winning Sweden based animators will be featured at the screening, including Jacob Stålhammar and Sara Overödder. Stockholm animation studio, Cinematic will also be showing films from their archives. A Q&A with Animation Block Party founder Casey Safron and several Stockholm animators will round out the animated celebration.

Casey Safron is the founder and creative director of Animation Block Party,  the largest animation festival on the East Coast. The first Animation Block Party festival was September 9, 2004 in Brooklyn. In addition to his festival work, Safron has also developed original cartoons for MTV, The Sundance Channel and many others. He currently lives in Brooklyn and continues to work to produce, draw and spread all forms of animation.
