Animation Block Party

Animation Block Party is a top-tier animation festival that has been produced on the East Coast since 2004. The Mash brings highlights from Animation Block Party to your front door at One Eyed Jack's, screening celebrated shorts and features from the around the country. We'll be featuring an exclusive peek at Prison Pit from comic book legend Johnny Ryan and Street Justice, animated by action cartoon master Ben Li plus Irreversible, from London based award-winning filmmaker Sarah Beeby.

Several New Orleans-based artists will also be showcased, including Michael Arcos and Marnie Ellen of Dream Throat Productions, Kira Akerman, Dan Miller, Melissa Tamporello, Ben Samuels, and Sam Randolph. Shorts from top avant garde talents and a Q&A with Animation Block Party Founder Casey Safron will join in to make this an incredible look at some of the best animation in the country.

Casey Safron is the founder and creative director of Animation Block Party,  the largest animation festival on the East Coast. The first Animation Block Party festival was September 9, 2004 in Brooklyn. In addition to his festival work, Safron has also developed original cartoons for MTV, The Sundance Channel and many others. He currently lives in Brooklyn and continues to work to produce, draw and spread all forms of animation.
