The closing weekend of the Chicago Mash is a good reason to throw a great party. Join us and Timberland at Thalia Hall for a full night of live music, partying, and plenty of Brooklyn Brewery beer. We'll be getting down to the jangling guitars and dancing beats of of Surfer Blood, fresh off the release of their latest album 1000 Palms. Chicago natives Storm Clouds will be opening the night with plenty of hooks and pummeling energy. All you have to do is let us know you're coming, and we'll bring the beer.
We're keeping the rest of our plans under wraps for now, but check back here for more surprises as the Mash Bash gets closer.
Surfer Blood's third album 1000 Palms came out on May 12, 2015 on Joyful Noise Records. The band has performed on five continents, toured with heroes like The Pixies and Guided By Voices, played on the Jimmy Fallon Show, at Coachella and giant festivals throughout the world, while also occasionally plugging in their amps at all-ages house parties. Surfer Blood are also the cleanest and nicest band in existence.
Storm Clouds are native Chicagoans making a splash with their hard-driving post-punk sound and infectious live shows. You can pick up their demo on Bandcamp today and keep an eye out for them wherever your local rock shows reside.
