Presented by Brooklyn Brewery + First We Feast
As the leader of one of the country’s top craft breweries for twenty-six years, Brooklyn Brewery co-founder Steve Hindy brings keen insight to the beer industry as the craft beer revolution continues to boom. Steve will be moderating a discussion between world-famous beer writer Roger Protz; Jasper Cuppaidge, founder of Camden Town Brewery; Logan Plant, Founder and Brewer of Beavertown Brewery; John Holl, editor of All About Beer, and local craft beer stars covering the controversies and opportunities facing brewers today and how those situations might play out in the future.
Steve’s incisive wit and encyclopedic industry knowledge will leave no stone unturned as these beer experts tackle the issues faced by breweries around the country and worldwide. London-based beer writer Mark Dredge will introduce the evening's discussion.
You'll be able to revisit the evening's discussion and hear from brewers all over the world as Steve travels with the Mash through our friends at First We Feast. They'll be recording and releasing every State of Craft Beer as a podcast on their site and through iTunes so that beer drinkers around the world can find out what Steve, John and the movers and shakers of craft beer have to say about life on the front lines of the beer industry.
Your ticket for the night includes your first beer. The folks from Burger & Lobster will be on hand to keep your stomach from rumbling during the quiet parts of the conversation. We'll also have Big Green Book Shop on hand so you can pick up Beer School by Steve Hindy and Tom Potter, Craft Beer Revolution by Steve Hindy and The American Craft Beer Cookbook by John Holl before you hear them speak.

Jasper Cuppaidge is the founder of Camden Town Brewery. He started his journey at the Horseshoe in Hampstead, North London, where he brewed beneath the pub. From there, Jasper started Camden Town Brewery with the aim of making lager better. Since 2010 they have been championing the style and using modern techniques to help bring great lager to a whole new generation of beer enthusiasts.
Logan Plant is the founder of Beavertown Brewing and Dukes Brew and Que. Inspired by a trip to Fette Sau while touring Brooklyn in a rock band, Logan fused his loves of craft beer and Southern-style barbecue into a single concept. Beavertown originated as the in-house brewery for Dukes before expanding to its own rapidly growing facility in 2013. Logan moved the brewery once again in 2014 to a larger facility in Tottenham, where his original 4-barrel brewpub system produces experimental batches next to its 30-barrel brewhouse "little brother" and a brand-new canning line.

An award winning journalist, he has visited more than 950 breweries around the world, conducting research for his beer-and-travel books as well as articles for the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Wine Enthusiast, the Washington Post, and many other publications.
