We're kicking off the Philly Mash on a high note with a free show. Join us and Timberland for a full night of live music, partying, and plenty of Brooklyn Brewery beer. You'll be stomping along with the danceable beats of Man Man, with opening support from the delightfully surreal Prince Rama. RSVP to claim your spot and get ready for a wild night.
Man Man is an experimental band from Philadelphia led by lyricist and lead singer Honus Honus. The band features a baffling array of instrumentation, strung together to inspire singalongs, dancing, and sudden introspection. Be prepared for a stunning display of musicianship by what seems like too few musicians for all that music. And be prepared to offer your head as a percussion instrument should Man Man need you.
"The band's latest features an arresting reconstruction of Man Man’s visionary sound – stripped to its core and rebuilt as something new and compelling yet still very much Man Man." - Anti
Prince Rama is renowned for their controversial, genre-defying performances and infectious recordings. The madness is orchestrated by sisters Taraka and Nimai Larson, who combine influences from time spent in ashrams, working for a utopian architect and more to bring together an utterly unpredictable live show. Psychedelic ceremonies, performance art, and dancefloor initiation rites are all more than possible-- come ready.
"Prince Rama will explore the transformation of kitsch to sublime, of time into eternity using pop music as a portal to enter a hyper-utopian future set to a soundtrack of pulsating, hypnotic dance beats of post-apocalyptic catharsis." - Cult Exhibitions
