At its core, Slow Supper is good old fashioned dinner party. But it's much more than that. It's also a collaboration between the culinary cultures of Brooklyn and, in this case, Baltimore. Slow Supper is also a benefit dinner party, held in a unique location. Previous suppers have been held on a farm in Austin, in an abandondend building in downtown New Orleans and in a repurposed meatpacking plant in Nashville. In Baltimore, we're heading to the woods.

Your cooking team: From Charm City we have Chef Cyrus Keefer bringing more than 15 years of experience to the Birroteca kitchen. After attending The Restaurant School at Walnut Hill College in Philadelphia, Chef Keefer honed his culinary skills at Cuba Libre and 2021 in Philadelphia. He relocated to Rehoboth, Delaware to open Nage and then moved on to Eden as the chef. Moving on to Baltimore in 2008 he worked with Chef/owner Ricardo Bosio at Sotto Sopra assisting in revamping his menus. Chef Keefer then helmed 1542 Gastro pub, which opened to rave reviews, after meeting with Robbin Haas he decided that Birroteca was an opportunity he wanted to become involved with. Birroteca has opened to many accolades in a short period of time.
And from Brooklyn comes graduate of the University of Gastronomic Sciences and active member of Slow Food, Brooklyn House Chef Andrew Gerson. His approach to cooking is based on supporting local food systems and celebrating good food and real beer. Chef Andrew is on a food crawl like no other, sharing and learning with chefs around the country with The Mash. Every Slow Supper is the delicious culmination of what he's absorbed from earlier stops on the tour.
Helping color in The Mash, NBNY, the organizers of Brooklyn’s Bring to Light festival, will map their immersive installations of light and projection art to the architecture of the mansion. It's a mix of sculpture and projection called "Kings County Cornucopia" and it must be seen to be believed. (See video below)
All proceeds from this event will go directly to Slow Food Baltimore fighting the good fight for fair, sustainable food.
